Delete your account
You can delete your Arrivo account and personal data at any time. Here's how, and what happens next.
The short version
- Delete any time, in the app or by email.
- Location sharing stops at once. Your groups stop seeing you straight away.
- Requests handled within 7 days. Personal data removed within 30 days, backups within 90.
- Cancel subscriptions first. Deleting your account does not stop app store billing.
1. Delete in the app
- Open Arrivo and tap Settings (top left of the map).
- Tap Account, then Delete account.
- Read the summary and confirm. Location sharing stops, you are signed out and deletion starts straight away.
2. Can't open the app?
Email arrivo@goldmend.com from the email address linked to your account, with the subject "Delete my Arrivo account". To protect your account, we may ask you to confirm it is you. We complete requests within 7 days and email you when it is done.
3. What is deleted
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Live location and location history | Deleted. Your groups stop seeing you at once |
| Profile, sign-in details, places and private notes | Deleted |
| Driving reports, SOS alerts and emergency contacts | Deleted |
| Your name and photo in groups | Removed |
| Chat messages and shared notes you wrote in groups | Stay in the group without your name, so the group's history still makes sense |
| Personal data in our systems | Deleted or anonymised within 30 days |
| Backups | Cleared on a rolling schedule within 90 days |
| Records the law requires us to keep | Kept only as long as required |
4. If you are a group admin
If you are the only admin of a group, Arrivo will ask you to choose another admin or delete the group before your account is deleted, so the group is never left without someone in charge.
5. Deleting a child's account
A parent or guardian who added a child to the family group can delete the child's account in the app (open the child's profile, then Remove and delete) or by emailing privacy@goldmend.com.
6. Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play or App Store subscription. Cancel it first in your store account: on Android, open Google Play, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions; on iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
