How can we help?

Quick answers to the questions families ask most.

Getting started

How do I add my family?

Open Arrivo, go to Settings → Add people to group, and send the invite code by WhatsApp or SMS. Each person installs Arrivo and enters the code.

Can I be in more than one group?

Yes, for example "Family", "Grandparents" and a temporary group for a holiday.

Keeping Arrivo running

Why does my location stop updating?

Arrivo runs in the background so your family can see you even when the app is closed. Your phone may stop it to save battery. Check these settings:

  • Location: "Allow all the time" (Android) or "Always" (iPhone).
  • Battery: set Arrivo to "Unrestricted" (Android). Some brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei and Samsung have extra battery savers; Arrivo shows a short guide for your phone.
  • iPhone: turn on Background App Refresh, and don't swipe Arrivo away in the app switcher.

In the app, Settings → Location sharing → Tracking check shows if everything is set correctly.

Does Arrivo drain my battery?

Arrivo is designed to use little battery by updating more often when you move and less when you're still.

Can my family see my battery level?

Yes. Your battery level is shared with your group so they know if your phone is about to die. They get an alert when it's very low.

Alerts and safety

How does SOS work?

Press and hold the SOS button for 3 seconds. Your family gets your live location. With Plus, your emergency contacts also get an SMS. With Premium, if no one in your family answers within a few minutes, Arrivo automatically calls or texts your emergency contacts. Arrivo is not an emergency service: in an emergency, call 995 or 999.

What is a no-show alert?

An alert if someone isn't at a place by a set time, for example school by 7:30 am. Available on Plus and Premium.
